Materials and structure
Vacuum bags are typically made from composite materials such as PET/AL/CPE or PET/NY/AL/CPE. PET material offers excellent printability; NY material has low oxygen permeability; AL material provides strong barrier properties and is opaque; and CPE serves as the inner packaging layer. These materials are combined through a specific manufacturing process to form vacuum bags with high barrier properties. Additionally, the sealing portion of vacuum bags typically uses water-soluble adhesive, which is more hygienic and environmentally friendly, leaving no solvent residues.
Features and Functions
1. Vacuum-sealable: Air can be extracted from the bag using tools such as an air pump to create a vacuum.
2. Oxygen and moisture resistant: Made from high-barrier composite materials, vacuum bags effectively block oxygen and moisture, providing moisture-proof, mould-proof, and anti-oxidant properties.
3. Dust and insect resistant: Placing items in a vacuum bag and removing the air isolates them from external dust and insects.
4. Space-saving: After vacuuming, the volume of items significantly reduces, making them easier to store and carry.
Applications and Classification
Vacuum bags are widely used in industries such as food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and electronics. In the food industry, vacuum bags are commonly used to package meat, vegetables, dried goods, and other items to maintain the freshness and nutritional value of the ingredients. In the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, vacuum bags are used to package chemical raw materials, pharmaceutical formulations, and other products, providing moisture-proof, mould-proof, and antioxidant properties. In the electronics industry, vacuum bags are used to package electronic components and circuit boards, offering dust-proof, moisture-proof, and antioxidant protection.
Depending on the material and application, vacuum bags can be categorised into various types, such as PE vacuum bags, PP vacuum bags, PA vacuum bags, and three-side sealed vacuum bags. Among these, PE vacuum bags and PP vacuum bags are key components of vacuum bag products. PE vacuum bags offer excellent flexibility and sealing properties, allowing them to closely adhere to food items for enhanced protection; PP vacuum bags, on the other hand, feature higher impact resistance and stronger mechanical properties.
